Come rain or come shine

Hello!

For the last one week I was working on a card for ICRC5... that is to interpret the word RAIN... After long thinking I was sure about the concept and the design but where were the supplies to implement? That was a challenge... And then started the whole process of doodling and coloring... It took a hell lot of me to complete... but I am satisfied with the results... Have a look...

It is a circle shaped card with an umbrella working as a bookmark which can be removed to view the full card. The birdies are made out of patterned papers by doodling over it and then cut it by hand... but the base of the card is white cardstock on which I  doodled everything from flowers to rain and falling hearts and then colored with my Faber Castel watercolor pencils... I made circle shapes by using compass and then cutting it.. used Doily punch (Purchased from Kavitha's craft studio) to give an actual umbrella effect..

On removing you can see the rain falling on the love birds... My main idea was to make a sliding umbrella which you can slide to left or right so as the rain is visible... but I don't have eyelets or brads to implement the idea so I had to make a whole big umbrella as a boomark...

I decked up the inside of the card with a love sentiment and used few puffy stickers to decorate it...

I used glitters to highlight all the main elements of the card.

I hope you like my efforts. This is my favorite creation till now. Please let me know your thoughts on this.
I am entring this card to following challenges:

Quilling wall hanging

Hello!

Today I had a fun filled day... My dear friend Priyanka called me at her place for lunch. We sat, ate, played carom, Uno and last but not the least... gossiped too.. ;)

She cooked some yummy dishes for us. Thank you Priyanka, if you are reading this.

She is an awesome friend of mine. I thought of gifting her something as it was my 1st visit to her place. She likes my crafting creations a lot so obviously the gift has to be a handmade one by me.

This is what I made and gifted.... A quilled wall hanging...

I weaved handmade paper strips (from Handpaper Co.) to make the base. They are quite sturdy. Then randomly made swirls by quilling strips, made some quilled flowers, leaves, bells and other shapes, punched few flowers, gave the last finishing touch and VOILA!!! Wall hanging is ready!

Here are few close-ups... Fringed flowers...

Quilled butterfly on a frame (from itsy-bitsy)... with a sentiment "Love..." (Handwritten)

I also made a handmade paper bag to pack the wall hanging but I forgot to take the pic :( ...

Please provide your thoughts on this creation of mine...
I am off to sleep now... Good night and sweet dreams... :)

Love n wishes,
Priya...

Window lattice card...

Hi friends...
I am back with another card... Here it is....

This card I have made for Anita's window/frame card challenge. I made this card in 4 days!!! but about 15-20 mins each day... :D.. I usually don;t get time to craft on weekdays as I have a 8-6 job + 3 hours travel time!!! Travelling in B'lore is really pissing...

Let's have a closure look at the lattice.

I used punch art to decorate the lattice. Used pre cut frames purchased from itsy bitsy and used foam tape to give it a 3D effect. The lattice is made by paper weaving technique. I weaved quilling strips.

Here is the look of the card when opened  with printed sentiment as "May each day be happily ever after!" Sorry for the blurry picture.

And the cordinated envelope. Again weaved the quilling strips on a frame.
The corners and the swirl diecuts are from Kavitha's craft store.
I am entering this card to:
karensdoodleschallenge
southern girls challenge
Scrapbook Sisters
Deep Ocean Challenge
Ruby's Rainbow Cahallenge
ccee stampers
I hope you all like my creation. Please provide your valuable comments.

Love and wishes,
Priya...

Happy Father's day....!!!

Hi all,

I am so excited to post my 1st art work here. Its a card!!! Since father's day is around the corner, I made a card for my dearest dad..

The card has been inspired from the ICRC4 color splash challenge. The tie is an origami necktie... the pattern on the collar and shirt pocket is doodled by simple gel pen..

I have the habbit of creating coordinating envalope to compliment the card inside.. usually a small embellishment to give a preview of the card inside.

The handkerchief can be pulled out to read the sentiment..

I am also entering this card to following challenges:

Please do comment about my 1st work posted..

Happy crafting..
Love,
Priya.

My own space.. My blog...My 1st post..

Hi all,

From a long time I was dreaming of having my own space on this web where I can share my creative ideas and learn from all the crafters around the world who have already mastered in their respective crafting field. But this blog idea of mine was hitting hard by my fear of not able to maintain it.

Now, I think it is high time to start writing and sharing through this little space of mine. I will keep you posted about my latest creations, creative happenings in my life and other crafting thoughts...

Before starting this wonderful journey, I would like to thank my family and friends who were with me all through my good and the bad times and giving me the strength to not just survive but to live through the toughest time.

As they say "When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.... "

Lot more is on the way... Keep watching this space for more... :)
